On this page you can find updates about my skiing experiences as well as specific trip reports about areas or peaks I have skied. First, a little bit about my skiing up to this point: When I stopped playing soccer my junior year of college, I suddenly found myself with free time I had never had before. It was skiing that filled my time that first winter without soccer. My parents gifted me a season pass for Christmas, and along with a flexible class schedule and a willing friend to spend four days a week at the mountain I learned to ski. Between a few ski days that I could count on one hand leading up to that winter and a yearly excursion to the New Mexico mountains with my family I had spend relatively little time in the snow before that winter. Quickly, though, skiing became one of my favorite sports, and winter became a whole new joy I would have never known otherwise. My partner, Mark, is also an enthusiastic skier, and as I came into the sport we quickly became one another’s favorite ski partner! Now I am lucky to spend most days in the winter playing in the snow. I work as a ski instructor and enjoy the opportunity to backcountry and nordic ski in the beautiful areas in and around Leadville, Colorado.
